Wayfinder - Aurelian Ruins

Worldbuilding, local lighting (Unreal Engine).

The Aurelian Ruins are a Lost Zone of the world of Evenor, a mix of handcrafted and procedural dungeons to explore in Wayfinder.
Lost Zones have different visual themes, that depend on the difficulty level and the storytelling going on at different points in the game.

Aurelian Ruins have 3 of them : Codex Halls, The Undercroft and The Repository of Knowledge.
On top of my worldbuilding and lighting tasks, we had the mission to establish a different identity for each theme, without doing a new zone each time. The level design has to be conserved, so some assets switch and lighting overhauls were coming in handy to further that contrast without a complete rebuild.
This post highlights an example of a "Tile" (level) with that thought process in mind once it's in engine.

Building these scenes is only possible because of the great work of our 3D Environment Art team and our outsource partners. I use the assets and modules provided by the team to create the architectures and compositions in the levels, so big thanks to all the team behind!!!
